2025 Licence Hearing

The current Beaverlodge licence (WFOL-W5-2120.0/2025) applies to the remaining decommissioned Beaverlodge properties and is set to expire in 2025. In 2023, Cameco received a 24-month licence renewal to allow adequate time for regulatory processes, public engagement, and document preparation to support the final release of the decommissioned Beaverlodge properties and transfer to the IC program. The request was largely administrative in nature and did not involve any changes to the authorized activities of the current licensing basis.

To date, 43 properties have been released from CNSC licensing and transferred to the IC program or free-released. The final 27 properties meet the regulatory accepted performance objective. The licence hearing for the release of the final Beaverlodge properties to the IC Program is anticipated in early 2025.
